"Michael and I just wanted to say thanks for helping to make our wedding day so special. All our guests were very happy with the hotel.

They absolutely raved about the food - the meal was the last word - we could not have asked for better. Thank you for making it so easy & stress free for us to organise our reception. We were both delighted with everything. We will have very fond memories of our wedding in The Park hotel!

Maybe we will go down and stay in the hotel on our 1st anniversary! We will probably see you before then."

"I have been intending to send a card to you since our family get together in your hotel in August. However before time goes any further I am emailing you instead.

The family had their annual family gathering with you in the Park Hotel in August and what a get together it was. A day and night for us all to remember.

And a big part of that night to remember was the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. They couldn't have been better. I didn't have young children with me- but I am aware of how difficult it can be to have them in a hotel setting and trying to keep them quiet. However, they were all made to feel so welcome and no one was put out by the children's fun and games.

The meal served to us on the night was wonderful and the staff remained friendly, pleasant and helpful throughout - which can't have been easy!

I would really just like to thank you all for your kindness and hospitality and hope that when we book in next year you will be happy to take us all in again.

With very many thanks and kind regards to you all"

Grounds Are Stunning August 2011

"Stayed with three generations of family. Fabulous setting. Rooms are individual and probably what you would call a bit old fashioned but a lovely change from all hotel rooms looking the same nowdays! Very clean and with everything you need. Staff wonderfully helpful. Food was good if a somewhat limited choice. Dining room lovely. The grounds are just a dream if you have children with you. got a good priced package and would definitely return"

Gold Service May 2011

"From the moment I took up the phone to ring and book our break, the service was the best i experienced in a long time,Lynn was very helpful from go.When we got down to the hotel things just got better, the front of house service & the room were perfect, the room was one of the cleanest I was ever in and it was kept this way for our stay..The Marquis restaurant lived up to my own high standard and again both the food and All the staff just made the experence perfect( i use the 'p' word yet again. It was when I had the pleasure of meeting James and given a tour of the kitckens that another 'p' was used.If you also get the pleasure to meet John Jo either in the restaurant or the bar you will find a very friend'ly young man who only adds to the excellent standard ot the hotel.there is one lady who I had also the pleasure of her service in the marquis restaurant ,her expertise in the running of the restaurant was the final cherry on the cake.I have heard mixed review's of the hotel but I can only say yet again for my part it gets 5 stars. Our photography break was worth every penny apart from one bad poached egg."

'A little bit of Heaven' May 2010
I stayed in the Park Hotel in April, and like some of the other people I had reservations about staying there at all having read reviews. I am glad to say I said I would go with an open mind and decide for myself. I would agree that the bedrooms do need a little up-dating and that the shower was not the best. I can see this is being adressed. The food in the restruant and the breakfast were excellent. There was a good variety. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. Nothing was any bother to them at all. I enjoyed wallking about in the woodland beside the hotel and it was a delight not to have to drive anywhere once I had arrived. Would I go back? I would indeed without a doubt but only when the M3 is fully opened.

'Very good, price quality plus excellent restaurant' May 2010

'Don't tell everyone about this hotel!' May 2010
The Park Hotel represents old fashioned Irish hospitality at its best. As other reviewers have said, it is not shiny and modern. On the contrary, it is an elegant old house turned into a comfortable and atnmospheric hotel. Beautiful grounds and walks beside the lake. Comfortable, simple bedrooms, good food, delightful friendly service and unbelievably good value for money.

'Unwind in beautiful surroundings” May 2010
Just returned from my second visit to this hotel and would highly recommend it for those of you who are looking to chill out. It's a long time since I have experience such friendliness from hotel staff who catered for our every need, nothing was a problem to them! Our meal each night in the restaurant was superb, loved the menue choice. No complaints about the breakfast either. On my first visit last month our bedroom was small but cosy and charming. My mother accompained me and was treated like royalty. On my second visit my husband and I had a much larger room which still had that old world charm. Fantastic value for money the only thing I would change in this hotel would be the seating in the bar!

'Old fashioned country style gem' April 2010
Having read recent reviews i would like to give our opinion as a family with young children. I was blown away with the service and food. We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast package which was to prove exceptional value. Our room consisted of a soft comfortable double bed. More importantly, our three and five year old were accomodated in two single beds in adjoining room with no door onto hallway. This was a highly unexpected treat at no additional cost and Mum and dad were delighted. Our room did not come with a view of the extremely beautiful grounds but we certainly were not unhappy.Tea and coffee facilites were provided as were a really good assortment of bathroom toiletries and thick fluffy white towels. I would point out that this hotel is not the shiny chrome variety. It is a very old period house converted to a hotel. There is no slick shiny glossy interior, no lift to second floor no tv in the bar. There is lots of old world character, old style staircase and we found old style hospitality that we certainly have not seen for a long time in Ireland.Dinner was exceptional both in terms of value but moreso in terms of quality. The flavours and perfection of cooking were pure quality and we would highly recommend. In particular their version of cheesecake, it was absolutely awesome. Both of our children had half portions from the adult menus and loved the food as did Mum and Dad. This hotel is a three star hotel but has AA rosettes. Do not go here if you want burger and chips type food, kids clubs, football in a noisy bar. Do go here if you want exceptional food in the restaurant, slow walks around a beautiful garden, a quiet drink in a bar where everyone including the other guests say hello to you, indulgent smiles for your kiddies and and a sense of peace and calm the minute you arrive .I can understand some of prevous comments.Like I said before, this is no slick shiny chrome modern hotel and if you come here expecting that, you will be slightly disappointed. It is a really good friendly country hotel, with excellent service great food and comfortable rooms that have old fireplaces in them. We loved it, will definately be going back soon and highly recommend for all ages.
