Exploring the history of the people of Cavan is the Cavan County Museum. The museum has many interesting, and often thought provoking displays, as well as extensive galleries displaying paintings, photographs and visiting collections.
The permanent collection includes some incredible displays including bronze trumpets dating from 900-500BC; the Medieval period with a unique collection including Sheela-na-gigs, exquisite broaches, pottery and the Cavan Mace; through the Great Famine period and into more modern times with the Nun’s Story.
The Cavan County Museum is in Ballyjamesduff, about 10 minutes drive from the Park Hotel (9km)
